I am a first grade teacher in a wonderful school in Charlotte, North Carolina. We have a high population of children who receive free and reduced lunch. We have assessments in reading and math that we have to do each quarter. My students sit at tables. I try to spread them out, but I don't have enough room to spread them so thin. I laminated construction paper and made a tri-fold office to prevent students looking on each other's papers. The problem is that the laminated construction paper is still not sturdy enough. The paper offices are constantly falling down and causing a distraction to my students. I have found the answer to my problem! Privacy shields are thick tri-folded cardboard. They will offer privacy and sturdiness all in one! Now, I will know that the assessments are exactly what each child can do, not what they can copy from one another. I will be able to share these 'offices' with the other teachers in my hall! Thank you for reading my proposal.
