We Need New Books on Current Issues!

My students need 25 new books on social issues in today's society. Teenagers are starving for guidance and information on issues that they face everyday.

My Students

Teenagers today face more problems than we can even imagine. They are starving for information and guidance on issues that they struggle with everyday. I would like to stock our high school library with current books that shed light on some of these social issues (bullying, abuse, pregnancy, etc.)

My students are teenagers that attend high school in rural Alabama.

They may live in a small town in the South, but they face the same problems as students nationwide. Many of my students are from underprivileged families, as are so many in the area. I would like to provide them with an opportunity to access reliable and current information on issues in the media today.

My Project

The closest bookstore to my students is more than sixty miles away. They rely on our school library for reading material. The books in our library are old and worn. We are in desperate need of new books with up-to-date information. Especially books that cover issues in the media today. Students come into the library on a daily basis looking for books on social issues in the media, but I am unable to provide them. I would like to purchase books on issues such as bullying, abuse, social media, pregnancy, health, politics, the economy and more.

This project will provide my students with the opportunity to access information from reliable sources.

These books may provide just the answers they were looking for. I would love to give my students the opportunity to look for answers in award-winning books written by notable authors.
