My Students

I teach at an innovative and award winning (k-12) dual language public charter school in Wilmington, Delaware. Our diverse student population studies Greek language and global studies.

My students need 20 world atlases in their human geography course to support them in their study of different places around the world.

In my geography courses, my students do geography by analyzing case studies, by participating in fieldwork in the local community, and by doing mapping activities that support geo-literacy and geospatial thinking. We do not currently have any atlases in our class.

My Project

My students have limited access to atlases in our class. This is a problem because our entire course, Human Geography, requires students to analyze maps on a daily basis to practice geo-spatial and geo-literacy skills. You will play an important role in building my students' mental maps of the world by purchasing these desperately needed atlases.

My goal is to foster within my students the attitudes, skills, and knowledge to become responsible and empowered global citizens.

Through the integration of content and the harnessing of student curiosity, I strive to facilitate students' discovery of how we connect to

our planet, each other, the past, and our shared future.
