Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We use dry erase markers every day. Just as much as we use pencils. Maybe even more!

My students use Expo markers on a daily basis, from their whiteboards to plastic sleeves, practicing drawing, math facts and literacy skills.

We play games on our whiteboards in math with partners and in whole groups. We work on spelling on dry erase boards, review grammar skills, and use sound boxes under plastic sleeves during guided reading groups. We have to make sure we have enough markers to last us all year long. Dry erase markers and student whiteboards work so well to engage young learners and quickly fix errors. The students also have fun writing on their boards with dry erase markers. To add on, we are going to teach a fraction unit and having a teacher set of large classroom fraction manipulatives really helps in modeling fractions.
