We Need Chromebooks for Our 5th Graders!

Help me give my students three Dell 3100 Chromebooks for projects, videos, and other classwork in their 5th grade classrooms.

My Students

Our school has nearly 550 students, Pre K - 5th grade, that enjoy using the technology we have now in the school, but much of our technology is aging and no longer works properly. We have an incredibly diverse school with a large military population. Many students do not have access to technology at home and rely on our school to provide technology instruction at school.

We have an excellent, enthusiastic group of students at our school and we would love to provide them with more up-to-date technology resources to enhance their learning!

My Project

Our 5th grade teaching team has focused on new innovative ways of teaching this school year, such as small group teaching with iPads, students reading poetry in silly voices, making videos, students designing their own projects, and students writing assessments for each other in Google Forms to demonstrate standards mastery.

Three Dell 3100 Chromebooks will allow at least 9 students (each machine is assigned to three students, one in each 5th grade class) to use working technology to create projects, videos, complete classwork, and write assessments for each other.

We do have some technology in each classroom, but much of our current technology is old, and needs to be constantly plugged in for laptops to work. This will be a great step in the direction of updating technology at our school, which will create even more innovative learning opportunities for our students!
