Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students, many of whom come from low-income housing, work hard to become bilingual and bi-literate. The Dual Language program is relatively new to our district and it is difficult to find resources in Spanish. We read every day in my classroom. My students love reading. We need more books in order to boost our reading skills. Our classroom library is very limited. Please help us get more books.

My Project

My goal is to inspire a love of reading in my students. To do so, I need a variety of high-interest books. Unfortunately, our classroom library has only a few books in Spanish on each level and does not cover the various topics my students are interested in.

This project will put 50 more good-fit books in Spanish into our classroom library giving students a better selection of stories at their independent reading levels.

I can't wait to see the look on the student's faces when these new books arrive! Thank you in advance for the smiles you will be putting on their faces.
