My Students
This upcoming school year will be my first year teaching Art to students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 in a Title I, New York City public school, and I could not be more excited! Right from the very first day of school this September, I want to build excitement and a love of Art that will continue with my students throughout their lives. Many students find that Art brings a sense of peace and happiness within them, which is just what my goal is. I love how students are able to explore and express themselves through their Art.
I want my students to have the tools that will allow them to explore and express their creative talents.
My Project
With your help, my students will have an opportunity to learn the important messages within these beautiful books about diversity, inclusion, and being kind. These books will not only be used as an inspiration for several art projects throughout the school year; these books will be shared with my students to foster positive relationships within and outside of the classroom. Students will celebrate their cultural identities and learn about accepting themselves and others, and why it is so important to be kind.
Books about diversity, kindness, and inclusion are essential to every classroom, and your help will truly make a difference in my students' lives.
