The books you gifted to my class has opened up many new opportunities to be independent readers. My students come from many different backgrounds and have varied levels of reading abilities. The assortment of books donated to my class allows them all access to practice reading skills we are learning in our classroom.\r\n\r\nStudents are being given the opportunity to pick books that are just right for them as readers. They are reading in our classroom book nook in comfy chairs or leaning on pillows with enthusiasm. They are having book talks with their peers about what was read and most importantly they are bringing books home to read to family members to show what they can do! Students who once felt timid or less confident about reading are now excited because they can pick books that are on their levels and enjoyable to read.
