My Project

In the art room we save all our extra bits of paper the entire year. We have a recycle bin that we put all these colorful papers that would normally be thrown away. At the end of the year 5th grade uses these papers to create recycled paper pulp to make new sheets of paper.

This project teaches the students that trash can be repurposed, reused, and recycled to make something new and beautiful.

It's an effort that all the artists in the art room take on to save the papers so that 5th grade can make the papers. This project is one of my favorites in the art room because it teaches the students so many lessons about art materials.

The blenders are one of the most important parts of this project. Without the blenders we would not be able to create our paper pulp. The blenders turn our torn up recycled paper bits into a pulp that we use to make the new recycled sheets of paper.
