The new resources have quickly become a meaningful part of our daily learning, and my students are absolutely thriving with them.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' reactions were priceless. Their eyes lit up, and several of them gasped and cheered. Many of them took extra care unboxing everything, asking if they could \"please make sure nothing gets hurt\" because they were so excited to start using the items. They immediately began exploring, making connections, and asking thoughtful questions.\r\n\r\nOne of the first activities we completed with the materials was noun town! After spending the week learning about communities and the important places within them, students worked in teams to build our community using the new STEM materials. They created schools, fire stations, parks, grocery stores, and even a tiny town hall. The level of creativity and collaboration was incredible to watch. Students discussed what buildings were essential, how to design stable structures, and how their pieces could fit together to form one shared community.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room was contagious. Many students said this was their favorite classroom activity of the year so far, and the new materials made it possible for them to turn their ideas into something they could see and touch.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and giving my students the tools they need to learn with confidence and joy. This year, I am teaching science to all 3 classes at my grade level. The supplies have allowed me to organize and do some hands-on activities that I otherwise might not have done because of the cost.\r\n\r\nOne of my students' favorite activities was nature writing. We went outside multiple times to observe different plants, animals, etc. One tool that helped us was creating frames using a picture frame glued to a craft stick. Students had a blast examining our \"rocks\" and gained so many skills (i.e., measuring, observing, discussing, etc.) by experiencing this hands-on activity.\r\n\r\nThe rocks had different layers (clay) so that students could identify marine and land fossils (sprinkles). Erasable pens are a favorite and not often lost or misplaced by students, but the ink does run out with use. \r\n\r\nFor students who like to use pencils, the erasers run out much faster than the lead. The eraser tops allow for longer use. After students finished the second book, the third book was waiting for them.\r\n\r\nA couple of weeks later, I was able to share multiple copies of the second book in the trilogy to my 4th grade teaching partner.
