Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 27 third grade students who are ready to learn. What an exciting classroom it is for both the teacher and the students. The places my students can go are boundless.
My classroom includes students at all levels of learning.
Most of my students come from low-income homes. Many of them are English language learners who absorb words like sponges. They love both reading and math and are always up to be challenged. My students are always learning both in and outside the classroom. They are a hardworking bunch!
My Project
My students need a variety of books to learn about the importance of bees in a garden. This spring students area going to work in teams to investigate why bees are an important part of the success of a garden. They will use books and on line resources to do their research.
Student teams will gets hands on experience as they plant bee attracting plants in the garden.
Students will grow plants that attract bees and transfer those plants to our school garden. Students will take all that they have learned and create a learning board in the school hallway that will teach all students about the importance of bees.
