My Students

Our school band program is in need of financial support to thrive. Many of the school instruments that students use are 40-50 years old and need to be retired and replaced. The students at my school are hard working, they have been trained at the junior high level and have had experience with quality instruments there. When they arrive at the high school to continue their growth, they are often met with inferior instruments and this can affect their progress and even retention.

We often say in our band, "Get better at music, get better at life." Music touches lives in a way that other in a way that no other subject can.

Though this is quote simplifies the matter, research continues to show how music education helps students in many ways. Having better equipment will help student to reach their full potential as musicians and people!

My Project

The oboe is a unique and necessary instrument in the band. It often plays solo parts that, for better or worse (if not played well). The oboe has been rightly called one of the more difficult instruments in the band to play well, and it is even more difficult when a student is fighting with an instrument that is poor make and quality.

By donating to our project, you will help our band be able to produce beautiful music, and the students for many years who use this instrument in our band program to succeed in their musical opportunities and endeavors
