My Students

Our school is a public school for students whose special needs cannot be met in a typical school. Despite the challenges faced by each of our 3 to 21-year-old students, they love to be engaged in activities. Some spend a lot of time sitting in their wheelchairs, so we take every chance to get up and move.

Our school day includes working on OT, PT, communication, and vision as well as academics.

Any time we can work on multiple areas at once helps to maximize the learning taking place.

My Project

This Hi-Lo chair will provide students the full body support that will enable them to sit up safely and engage in any of their school day activities. One of the best features about this chair is that the entire seating can be raised and lowered with the child in it.

Many of the wheelchairs are bulky and cannot be placed up to our whiteboard or table, but this chair will allow the student to reach the entire board, then adjust to join friends at the table.

The reclining feature will even allow students with the most difficult challenges to be a part of whole group instruction at the table or down near the carpet while giving them a break as needed.
