We Need a Kidney!

Help me give my students a kidney bean table so that I can easily assist them in their times of need.

My Students

Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch based on their socioeconomic status. My goal is to limit the challenges they face outside the classroom and give them a safe, engaging and comfortable learning environment which promotes discussion.

I am looking to provide my students with an area of instruction that will promote more on-task behavior.

We are fortunate to be a part of a "school of distinction," but we need your help in order for that excellence to continue.

My Project

I currently serve second and third grade special education students at my school. They have various needs and learning styles. Many of them need constant redirection to stay on task.

This kidney-shaped table will allow my students to have the face-to-face contact and proximity they deserve.

My existing rectangular table is not ideal as I am frequently moving my seat, standing, sitting or squatting next to students in order to give them the support they need.

Many of my students have the accommodation of preferential seating (usually near the teacher). Their attention spans are very short, so I am constantly redirecting them. Being two seats or more away makes this difficult.

This kidney table would make the implementation of these accommodations more feasible. Their on-task behavior would greatly improve if I am simply sitting across from every student in the group at once. Your donation will make a world of difference in the delivery of my instruction and my students' academic success!
