This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a public school without funding for about everything and next year will be worse. I had hoped for a new computer next year, but that dream has faded as 13 of my teaching friends have been given the pink slip. So my ploy today is to ask for an Apple computer for my sweet kindergarten classroom

You can change a child's life. Better yet, your donation is tax deductible! When we get to explore the Internet, we get to see pictures of the world, the outside, places we never dreamed. This is all because we get to see them on the Internet. With your donation, you can change 22 students' lives and be the 'Apple' of their eyes. You know what Bill Gates says, "Be nice to nerds, one day they could be your boss." We are college bound! Please help us get there, by actually providing us with resource!

My Project

Letting kindergarten students explore the computer in a classroom not only brings them up to speed to 2012 by letting them explore the Internet while we do science, language arts and math, but also lets them share their experience with their family. There are so many sites that support classroom learning and we are hoping to get a computer that lets us explore the Internet! I am asking for this laptop, so that I may put it away and the risk of it getting stolen minimal so it will be easily put away after use. I know the students will be so happy to use a computer and see all these great science videos. Also, the teacher will be grateful to put in data and provide data entry for report cards. Aah, what a dream!

Making a change comes very simply.

Most of my students do NOT have a computer at their home. We have an 13 year old computer and there is no PTA at our school. We are high poverty, but we live here in the shadow of Silicon Valley where all is happening and growing in the computer world. Doesn't that seem ironic? Poor doesn't mean having to do without or not being smarter than any one else. Please give what you can and bring us up to date to 2012. With peace and microchips! Viva Apple!!
