My robotics students are a pretty neat group of kids. We are a Title I district meaning a certain percentage of our students live below the poverty line. Despite all the disadvantages this implies, my students enjoy and thrive in my technology-heavy classroom. They get to talk, move around, and build wonderful creations every day.
As they have learned robotics better, my students have expanded their horizons and set their sights higher with the desire to learn, compete, and be better than they were.
My Project
We are building a STEM Lab here at our high school, and we need supplies to recreate our room and to build new things.
Right now we are working towards a dream STEM Lab at our school, and we just need some foundational materials to get started in the right direction.
We need various types of batteries for our classrooms including chess clocks, tools, and robotics. We want to keep them running and take care of them. Lithium batteries are advertised as non-leaking so they won't corrode or damage our equipment.
Our goal is to increase participation in science and technology classes, and one way to do this is to get fun materials for students to build and create with.
We hope that in 5 or 10 years we have one of the best programs in our area.
