My students need rhythm makers such as boomwhackers and maracas! As we DIVE DEEP into arts integration my students need hands on tools for learning music in the classroom!
"YES! I DID IT!" Those words are music to my ears when it comes to students learning. The fact that they put all their effort into one task and they were able to achieve that is the BEST part of teaching.
My students are my kids, and I treat them as that.
They are loved and disciplined at the same time while being taught. I hear the excitement in their voices as they grasp different concepts, and to hear the laughter in the room as they are collaborating makes my heart smile!
I wish I could provide everything my students need to be successful in my classroom but sadly, I can't! But what I do know, is that there are amazing people out there willing to help educators get the resources they need and for that I say thank you!
My Project
Our school is starting a new journey this year into arts integration! This is a huge opportunity for our school since we are a Title I school and many of these students don't have access to art resources. I am so excited to start this journey but it requires supplies that I don't have on hand! Musical instruments and tools to keep rhythm are not items regular classroom teachers keep on hand.
I want my students to be able to explore music on a daily basis in their regular ed classroom!
I want them to learn literacy through music, math through music, and even science and social studies through music! My goal is for students to find something they get excited about every day pertaining to the arts.
With these musical items students will be able to learn the music standards along with their common core standards. They will be able to explore music at a very young age. Most of my students only get musical instrument exposure during their 30 minute art lesson once a week in their music class! Arts integration will allow these students to be hands on with music whenever they want!
