My classroom is a revolving door. Students come in and out at various times of the day, for a variety of needs. Each student has individual goals, and my dream is for all students to meet and exceed their goals, along with becoming successful learners in their general education classroom.
Our school is a Title I school, with a very diverse population of students.
Along with that diversity comes a large span of strengths and needs. I can serve all grade levels at our school (Pre-K through 5th), so I see a variety of needs and learning styles on a daily basis in my classroom.
My Project
Let’s put kids in charge of their own learning! I would like to provide students the option of choosing a differentiated seat so that they develop more ownership of their work that will guide their independence as a learner and strengthen their bodies. Using wobble stools allows each student their choice of comfort while learning and working on task. My hope is that by offering numerous choices throughout their day it will not only build muscle but also a trust and respect that we wouldn’t have had otherwise.
Our classroom family must have a warm welcoming feel and trusting relationships to create the best environment for their highest learning potential!
We will also use the colored cardstock for creating and displaying many hands on projects that align with our lessons.
