Imagine moving to a new country. You walk into a classroom and you may not have ever had any formal education before. You have never read or written and you have this smiling teacher talking to you in a language you don't understand. These are the students I teach every day.
This is my class as well.
Being a kindergarten teacher you quickly realize that many of your students are in school for the first time! We take for granted all the things they need to learn (letters, numbers, how to write a number and how to write their names) more supplies in all aspects of learning would definitely help my class learn and help with their foundation that is so crucial to the rest of their school careers.
I will use these book baggies so my students have durable storage for their books. I am constantly stopping instruction throughout the day to replace broken zip lock bags. These new bags will get my students excited to receive their books. They are starting to read in kindergarten and some get discouraged because they think they do not know how. These bags will help motivate them to pick book and read. I want to encourage reading in my classroom and I think if they have new durable books that it will help my students stay excited and keep on reading. The big books will allow my lessons to be more effective in showing kids strategies to use during reading because they all will be able to see the big books and We can participate in interactive lessons.
