The new softball gloves are being used every practice, skill development, and team drills. For many of our girls, this is the first time they've had a glove that truly fits their hand and allows them to play the game with confidence. One moment that stood out was during a recent fielding drill. Players who were once hesitant were now stepping up, calling for the ball, and making clean plays. That shift in confidence was powerful to witness.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the gloves, their reaction was pure excitement and gratitude. There were smiles, cheers, and even a few \"these are really for us?\" moments. It meant so much to them to know that people they may never meet believe in them and are willing to invest in their growth. That sense of support has gone beyond the equipment. It has motivated them to work harder and take pride in being part of something bigger.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these gloves will continue to play a key role in our development. We are focusing on improving defensive skills, building teamwork, and preparing for competitive play. I display the cards and signs on my example wall for reference but often I also use them on the overhead projector alongside Spanish translations or in conjunction with students when they are sharing their work with peers and since many of my students are non verbal the pictures and vocabulary cards make it easy for them to point to the words and where they showed understanding in their work.
