My Students

I have the privilege to teach fourth grade at a diverse public school in Nevada. I teach at a Title One school in Nevada in which a high percentage of my students come from bilingual homes and receive free or reduced-price lunch. My school serves a low-income population in which most students are English Language Learners. A portion of these students only receive exposure to English here in the school. They work with great enthusiasm and effort to improve their English and progress toward a mastery of the language. My students face tough obstacles in their lives but arrive at school smiling and ready to learn. They love their teachers. Our school truly is a community and a family. We each do our part as student and teacher. We work side by side with one mission in mind: our students’ success.

My Project

My kids are obsessed with reading and cannot put books down! I have students that are ready for the next step and my library isn't prepared. They need chapter books that are of high interest that will challenge them and continue expanding on their love of literature. My kids are in love with the selection of books that we currently have, but we need more chapter books.

I am looking to add engaging and interesting chapter books to our library!

Your donation will make it possible for all my kids to have at least one chapter book to read at all times. What a dream that would be!
