We Love To Cook In Our House Center!

My Students

My students are ESL Pk students. Their families come from various countries. The students are limited English speakers or may not be able to speak English. Their families do not speak English or speak very limited English. My students come from low-income families and attend a Title I school.

My students and their families were affected by Hurricane Harvey and are slowly rebuilding their homes.

This is their first adventure in school for the children. They are afraid for the first few weeks, and then they begin to learn the English language quickly. It only takes​ a few months until they begin understanding and speaking English.

Many of our families are still working to rebuild their homes. Some of the children are not able to play in their home and have limited toys in their temporary homes. Many are still not living in their homes or have their own bedrooms and toys.

My Project

All of my students come to school and want to learn and play in a safe and clean environment. My students homes were flooded by Hurricane Harvey. The school was fortunate not to have water damage. The school is a safe, clean happy environment for the students to come daily.

I hope to give the students a clean, safe classroom, so they can play and learn to be chefs and parents.

While increasing their vocabulary thru dramatic play.

While they are living in homes that are being repaired, it is important for them to be able to come to a school that is clean, sanitary and a happy place. Our new school is near completion and we hope to move in soon. I hope to have new cooking utensils, food and a table and chairs for their house center.
