We Love Clay, Part Two

My Project

Ceramics is the most favorite medium of my students. My first project "We Love Clay" was not totally funded. We did have school fundraisers to buy a kiln. I had fall and spring Paint Nights. All the money we made is going to the purchase of a kiln.

Now we are going to need clay!

My school has 130 multi-language learners in addition to 150 scholars that receive Tiered Supports. We are pretty low on the socioeconomic scale. My scholars (particularly the older ones) were deeply disappointed about a suspended ceramics program. They have seen each year's projects and were excited to create with clay.

Next year we will have our kiln, we just need clay to fire.
