We Love American Chillers, Our Favorite Reading Thrillers
My students need two complete sets of American Chiller books, by Jonathan Rand, and HP ink for literature project related publishing and printing.
Do you remember the book that turned you into a reader? I do, and I hope the American Chiller books by Jonathan Rand will flip that switch in my students, particularly those who are reluctant readers. I believe the genre, subject matter, geographic tie-ins, and readability will be a winner for us!
My 5th grade students are a very special group.
Many of them are struggling students who haven't yet found the thrilling world of reading. I have a strong desire to change that, and believe American Chiller books by Jonathan Rand are just what we need. Unfortunately, poverty and unemployment rates are sky high and my students feel the void left by limited resources both at school and at home. Our unemployment rate is far above the national average, and around 70% of our students, schoolwide, are on free or reduced price lunch. Most of my students have little or no access to books, technology, or the Internet at home.
Reading is the basis for all other learning. The American Chiller books grab the students' interests and create the desire to read more and learn more. They all want to find another adventure to take with this series. These books create a desire for reading and knowledge. I am especially thrilled at the impact these books will have on my reluctant readers! With a plentiful supply of HP ink, students can create, publish, and print literature related projects and journals to share their love for reading and learning. That is certainly a luxury we aren't accustomed to, but will enjoy. American Chiller books can change the lives of my little learners!
Please help my students find THAT BOOK!
Putting high interest material in their hands can create lifelong readers. Being able to use the HP ink will give my students an opportunity to create and publish literature related projects that they can print and share. Please help us to make this readers' dream a reality for the students!
