My students need 16 active, manipulative, math learning stations to reinforce and enrich our math curriculum.

My Students

Can you imagine having all these numbers dancing in your head and no understanding of what they mean? I believe children need a very concrete background of what numbers mean in order to succeed in math in future years.

"I teach First Grade in Florida.

My school has a very high percentage of students who receive free or reduced price lunch. Our school is "full inclusion" which means special education students are fully included in regular ed classrooms. First graders are eager to learn, but often freeze up when they do not understand a concept. I am hoping with these games, they will become more excited about the world of math. I also need to challenge my students that are working well above grade level with meaningful and engaging activities to maintain their interest, as well.

My Project

These resources will greatly aid my bustling classroom by actively engaging all learners at their levels with fun, active games. It will allow me work with targeted groups, while others are working at these stimulating stations. I believe all these resources will give a concrete model to actually "see" math and give the student a better understanding of math concepts.

The resources will allow me to build a manipulative-based instruction for my first grade class.

It will create a solid foundation for the beginning of each child's future success in the mathematical world! Thank you.
