Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a school for newcomers which means 100% of our students are new to the country by means of immigration, refugee, or seeking asylum. Because of the nature of our families and the circumstances that got them here, many families struggle to provide or obtain basic and necessary hygiene products that you and I take for granted.
I plan to make each child a hygiene bag.
In each bag I would like to give the children a hair comb, wash cloth, chapstick, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and lotion. Students can then use the bag to carry these products and bring it back to school incase they ever need more.
Every child deserves to stay clean and should not worry about obtaining these products like other children.
