My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but they have one thing in common - they want to learn in exciting ways. Some of my students live in the small town "city" that makes up our county, but most live in the country. My students are great workers and love to learn about new topics. They love to write and share their learning with others. Our school is made up of around 800 students and is one of 3 high schools in our district.
My Project
My students love to read but always want more books to choose from. This project will help build my classroom library with a variety of titles that are updated in comparison to the current books. Students will enhance their vocabulary by becoming better readers since they will have a wider variety of choices to choose from.
These books will encourage readers and non-readers to become readers who carry on "novel" conversations and contribute to the classroom as more than just a learner.
This project will fund the eager minds in the classroom who are looking for the next best title and the lost soul who is looking for a way to connect to literature.
This project includes popular novels such as The Sun is Also A Star and the Shatter Me Series, which will appeal to all readers. This project also includes sports related novels, such as The Final Four and High Heat, which will appeal to the males in my classroom. These books will encourage all readers to continue to read!
