My students face social and economic challenges. The majority of them come from single-parent homes, and most of their families must subsist on low incomes. Therefore, my students cannot afford more than the most basic school supplies.
The economic challenge continues at school.
Their school has been designated a high-poverty school. For example, over 70 percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Additionally, the community is suffering from one of the highest unemployment rates in the state, and it cannot supply an abundance of materials. Knowing that the majority of my students do not have the means to save or record their projects and that the school system cannot supply them, I find it hard to ask the students to complete research assignments and have no way for the students to save or record them
My Project
Having a class flip camera would boost my students’ confidence. They would see that they can save and record research from the computer and meet the challenges of learning. Furthermore, they want the opportunity to learn. If you could see their faces when they are doing research and then to be able to save and record that research, you would realize why I believe that they should have access to them. Their smiles affirm the value of twenty-first century technology.
My students cannot purchase their own flip camera.
On the other hand, they need to use flip cameras to prepare themselves for the use of 21st Century Technology. Because my students need enhanced learning opportunities and greater self confidence, I hope that they will benefit from your generosity
