I love how eager my students are to learn! They have a zest for life! The love exploring any and everything their little hands can feel and eyes can see! It’s never a ordinary day at our after school program! We learn together, play together, and grow together. I keep them engaged by always changing our learning styles and making everyday different and exciting. They keep me on my toes and I keep their brains always guessing! Each day is a adventure!
My Project
The majority of my students are lower income students who utilize SNAP benefits, food banks, and pack a backpack program. I want to use items that are staples in their budgets and also items that my students have never tried to open their minds, eyes, and mouths to a different perspective on eating. Being on a budget I understand how tight things can be for parents and I want my students and parents to know that you can eat healthy, tasty, affordable food on a budget. I’ll show them how math, science, and critical thinking skills all take a part in cooking as well.
