Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are extremely bright and creative. They are eager to learn, but get frustrated because they have a hard time reading. When we try to solve word problems they start out motivated and ready to tackle the problem, but when we start reading they quickly get discouraged. I want to give my students a level playing field so they can show everyone how much they can do!
My Project
My students have to work extremely hard every day in school to keep up with their peers. They have dyslexia and reading stands in the way of almost every subject. Students in my class are bright and creative, and also discouraged and frustrated.
This speech-to-text pen will allow my students with dyslexia to feel accomplished and confident.
With this pen they will be able to read the word problems in math and show how amazing they really are at solving problems. It will give them the confidence to read a book or paragraph in front of the class. It will open up so many possibilities for them to show what they really can do now that reading isn't standing in their way.
