My Project
I truly have the most amazing and resilient students! They have been through so much since COVID-19 hit. I have second graders this year. This is the first time in my students' educational career to have a "regular" school year. My students' last quarter of kindergarten in 2020 were all learning online from home. Their first quarter of their first grade year was spent online and a quarter of the kids continued to stay online through 2021. Now, they are second graders and have returned in-person full time.
Due to the pandemic, many of our kids are showing difficulties sitting in a chair.
I purchased one standing desk a year ago from a thrift store. I have a couple of students that take turns using it. They both love it! I was one of the teachers that taught online so all individual desks were given to the teachers that needed them when kids returned to in-person learning. I purchased totes that the kiddos keep under their table area where they store their books and class supplies. Having seat pockets would help my students from having to crawl under to retrieve their supplies throughout the day.
