I have had the great privilege and opportunity to teach for 23 years. In the last year I have noticed my little sweethearts are coming in with more and more sensory needs. I have purchased all my sensory items on my own. They break and I replace them throughout the school year. My little ones benefit so much from these sensory items. I have noticed when certain students stand by the counter to do their work/assessments, they are more focused and are able to complete their work without redirection. The counter is not the most ideal place for my students to stand near. Students are unable to face the board and the rest of their classmates. It is an awkward position for students. We usually have to clear the area each time kids want to use the area. The standing desks will alleviate the awkwardness and make students feel as if they have their own personal space in the classroom. The desks will allow students to feel like a contributing part of their class and support them in getting their wiggles out in a constructive way. If you are able to donate towards my kiddos needs...it will be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance.
