My students need over-the-ear headphones with volume control so they can enjoy listening to their individual tablets without disturbing their classmates. They love their tablets but need individual headphones to not disturb others.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach Pre-K in the city of Detroit. All of my students live below the line of poverty and are considered at risk which qualifies them to be in the program I teach in. Due to their economic and academic disadvantages, I try to afford them experiences they may not otherwise have access to.
I try to expose my students to various experiences that will help them develop a love of learning through curiosity and exploration.
I teach at a STEM school and I want my students to have learning experiences that promote experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math.
My Project
My students have the advantage of enjoying individual tablets because of generous donors supporting our Technology Project. They are learning new skills by leaps and bounds due to the aid of the learning apps on our tablets. However, with 18 students learning 18 different skills all at the same time, the noise can be quite distracting and slightly chaotic.
By having individual over the ear headphones, each student will be able to solely focus on their learning skill without being distracted by the sound of their classmates' tablets.
The over-the-ear headphones are also volume controlled so the decibel level is safe for young ears. These headphones will be the perfect accessory to support my young learners in using technology to aid in their learning experiences.
