We Can Have Better Handwriting!

Help me give my students better handwriting! Pencil grips to hold the pencils in the right way and sensory fidgets to keep us on track!

My Project

My 4th graders have worked so hard this year! They were in 1st grade when we went virtual for COVID. They missed some vital skills to help them have nice and neat penmanship. We have worked really hard this year to be purposeful in our handwriting but may need some extra help. Some have anxiety when it comes to writing prompts and need some tools to help them get through the assignments. Others need to have some skill building in how to help a pencil, it's tough on their hands when they have not gotten used to how a pencil should be held.

Small items can make a big difference!

Students just need the right tool sometimes to help distract them enough so they can focus on the work. Anxiety and stress are appearing more often in younger students, I have introduced this group to the Zones of Regulation, in hopes of letting them take control of their emotions. I have seen them make great strides in their own understanding of how their brains work.
