This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever tried to learn and socialize while immersed in a language that wasn't your first language?

Mastering academic language can be a complex process for multilingual learners.

My English Language Learners are enthusiastic about gaining oral language skills in English. Small group instruction provides a supportive environment for oral language practice. Students feel empowered to accurately use our targeted vocabulary and ask questions for further clarification. My students are proud of their home languages and we celebrate their successes each day!

My Project

Please help us fund our mini dry erase whiteboards. My students rely on whiteboards for short, quick responses during whole group and small group teaching.

My students are keen to share their ideas and understandings!

Mini whiteboards provide the opportunity for my students to "show what they know." This may come in the form of a complete sentence, letter formation practice or sounding out an unknown word. Quality whiteboards are essential for this routine work as they do get a lot of use each day.
