Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a unique bunch. They come from very diverse backgrounds. Unfortunately, they come from very low-income areas and have not been provided equity from our school district. The majority of my students' first language is not English, so they are not on grade level. We are a Title I school and our school has purchased computer software to help the students advance. The issues that we face daily is there are not enough computers. We want to be technically prepared.
My Project
This project is to help get computers in my classroom for each of my students to help with literacy. A lot of my students are not on grade level. My school has purchased computer programs to aid in bridging the gap. That is fine and dandy, but we do not have enough computers to service our classroom. These programs are to help meet the students' individual needs after they have had whole group instruction.
My students need people to believe that they are worth it.
My students want to learn. I want to do my best to make sure they have exposure to all of the interventions that we have to offer. My students' are very bright, I want to push them beyond what society has set for them because they are in a low-income area and they are minorities. Donating to my project will supply my students with the opportunity to do group rotations and utilize the computer programs that were purchased by my school.
