Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom, I have twenty-five, enthusiastic learners. We are a Title One school in a low socioeconomic neighborhood with limited resources. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch. The majority of my students are English Language Learners with a lot of curiosity and great ideas. They come from hard-working families that have at least two jobs. My students need the right resources and tools to help them master the academic standards in all areas. I would like to build more on our technology center so that my students have access to using different devices for STEM activities, math problem-solving activities, research and more.

My Project

Even though the year is almost over, this is the time we need our printer and ink the most! We have been fortunate to get a printer through Donorschoose, but we are running out of ink! The students are starting their projects! My students have been printing their writing assignments (opinion, narrative and informational writing) using Google docs. In addition to Google docs, students are creating their own independent studies (research projects) using Google slides. During small groups, they have a choice of researching something that they are interested in and creating Google slide presentations. Once they are finished with their assignment, they can print their slides and we display them in the classroom or outside on our bulletin boards (in the hallway). All of these assignments require a lot of ink!

I want to continue to display the wonderful job these kiddos are doing in my class and I hope you can help me make this happen!
