My students need Kindle Fires to use in learning stations. The students will use the Kindles to take Accelerated Reader tests, read books, and play educational games.

My Students

I have 23 precious 1st graders in my class. We had the first day of school and then we flooded. I didn't get to know them very well but I know many of them are displaced from their homes. These students lost all class materials and I want to provide a positive learning environment for them. Because I lost most of my teaching materials in the flood, I want to build a classroom that these students can come to and thrive and meet their educational potential.

My Project

In our temporary school, my students will be without their computers to take AR (Accelerated Reader) tests, play educational games, and read online books. In this technology driven world, my students are accustomed to using some type of technology daily. The Kindles will be used during workstations at least 4 times a week, and will also be used as early finisher activities. My goal is to increase their reading comprehension skills.

I would love to be able to provide this technology in our temporary classroom, and in my permanent classroom for many years to come.
