Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Times have changed and we need to catch up! I am trying to keep up on technology in my classroom with no budget. We can't afford a Smart Board but we made one using a Wii remote and a projector...now we just need the software!

My students love to move around and get physically and intellectually involved in their learning.

They are going to school in an urban school district where the majority of our population is minority and from families with a low socio-economic status. These are great students who deserve the best education!

My Project

My students need interactive software such as Nonfiction Pinko, Plants Activities, and Vocabulary Quiz Game Show to use on our Wii Smart Board. These interactive games will allow all of my students to become actively involved in their learning. I recently was able to set up a Wii "Smart Board" in my classroom (with the help of an awesome colleague) since our school cannot afford a "real" Smart Board. We are making do with what we have and this software would make it even better!

This software will literally change the way I am able to teach in my classroom.

It will reach all of my students and hold their interest more than my standing in front of them lecturing. Please help my classroom come into this century of education!
