Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My project is focused on enhancing our students' learning experience through the implementation of GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) strategies! With your generous support, we aim to equip our classroom with essential resources to facilitate effective implementation of GLAD techniques. These resources include caddy bins, rolling carts, a student mailbox, sentence strips, maps, and markers, all carefully selected to support diverse learning needs and enhance engagement. By providing students with easy access to materials and tools, we create an environment conducive to interactive learning experiences that promote language acquisition and academic success.
With roots in Project GLAD's proven methodologies, our goal is to empower students to become active participants in their own learning journey, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and language development.
As we GLADify our classroom, we will be piloting Mystery Science and social studies lessons with these strategies. By employing this distinctive teaching approach, students not only demonstrate heightened engagement but also exhibit significantly improved retention of the material being taught.
