My Project

My students all receive special education services. This means that I am always trying to find materials that will help them express their strengths while also meeting their needs. My students are talented and motivated, and my job is to give them everything they need to reach their goals.

My goal for this project is to provide my students with the things they need to be creative and successful in my class.

While we use the usual assortment of educational materials: pencil, paper, and computer, I also like to provide a wider variety of items to truly help students express themselves.

Student use cardstock, construction paper, and clay to create posters and sculptures that visually represent their learning. Those who struggle to read or write wear headphones when using the text-to-speech or speech-to-text features on their computers. We use colored paper to help students color-code assignments to stay organized and work more independently.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
