Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a third grade bilingual teacher in a high needs community. The class consist of 28 highly motivated but disadvantaged students. They are at various language levels and require different support to ascertain educational success in English and in Science while maintaining their first language, Spanish.

My students have shown an insurmountable interest in their education as well as their Hispanic culture. Unfortunately, I am unable to appropriately fuel that interest and pride because of lack of supplies. My students need to master English in order to acquire success but they also must maintain their first language which is of great value to them.

My children need bilingual books that support them in both languages in Science. They also need read-alongs to support their growth in the English language and maintain their interest for literacy. The different activities will keep learning interesting.

It is within your reach to provide for these children, who in turn are our future. Your generosity will make it possible for them to continue successfully in their education. You will make it possible for my students to be saturated with various forms of language exposure!
