My class of first graders is as different from each other as they are alike. They shine in various ways and they struggle with just as much variation. Their biggest commonality is that they want to be seen, and heard and noticed.
Finding ways to let them shine is my purpose as their teacher.
Whether it be the good reader, the mathematician, the author or illustrator, the engineer, the scientist, the historian, the singer or the athlete, these are the talents of the little people that surround me each and every day.
Securing the tools they need to show what they know, to gain confidence in their area (s) of expertise, and to allow them to grow and reveal their own passions and abilities is my job and my love as their teacher.
My Project
My students will be so excited to show their learning through the use of these art supplies. By painting and building with dough, students will be allowed to show what they know and to express themselves creatively.
Playdough and painting are great ways to build hand strength and to stretch imaginations!
Building hand strength allows kids to have better fine motor control and stamina while writing. They are acquiring these very important skills while they are having fun with paint and dough. It's brilliant!
These materials make it easy to give kids fun experiences while supporting their overall development and making a skill like writing easier for them down the road.
