My students are active. They like to learn in real time. They love books and they love making connections. If I can give them real experiences that mirror those in books then they are thrilled. Kids can learn. It has to be real and it has to mean something to them. My school is small, but there are a lot of diverse needs and backgrounds. Some kids come with wonderful experiences and others only have a TV to provide that experience. It's up to me to make up the difference.
