My Project

Preschool children's brains are wired to learn. They absorb, and process all the information around them. At this age, they are just beginning to develop their self-concepts and starting to understand how others see them. They are also gaining a knowledge of the people in their lives including their teachers and friends, and beginning to understand the sameness and differences. This is why teaching diversity during the early years of childhood is so important. I want my students to develop pride in who they are and know they are accepted and loved no matter what. I also strive to help my students love and respect those around them.

Please help me promote diversity, equality, and inclusion in my learning environment by providing play materials that represent each of my children and teach them about the beautiful variety of cultures, customs, family types, physical attributes, and languages of all of us.

Children are not born with biases. As an Early Childhood Educator, it is my honor to teach them to love and accept themselves, and others.
