This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I want to boost my students' peer relationships. This group of kiddos will be together for the next nine years. They need to learn to love their peers and have compassion for how their days are going. This will allow students to see the world through others' eyes. They will be able to guide those in times of need and even offer a shoulder to lean on if needed.
What better way to learn to care for one another than sharing a cup of ice cream?
This machine will be brought out at the end of the week when we all gather to discuss our weeks. Students will bond with each other over ice cream while actively listening and showing compassion for each person's week. I will observe my students during this time to ensure they care for one another and help guide them if help is needed. I will be able to measure their success by theirlanguage to one another and their support to those who need it.
We are excited to have this time to get to know one another. We must learn to coexist and show love for the ones we will spend the most time with!
