My students need the Lakeshore small group table for remediation and enrichment during our literacy block.

Wow! I cannot believe that I am almost finished with my fourth year of teaching. Time sure does fly by when you are doing something that you love. I teach kindergarten, and I have such an amazing group of superheroes this year! I have been blessed with such smart, caring, and affectionate students.
My students attend a public Title I school where we serve military and non-military students.
At times, my students may not have what they need, but they come to class excited and eager to learn. My superheroes are unique in their own abilities and what they bring to the classroom. They work together as a team, and together they have tackled the obstacles of learning how to read, write, and add and subtract. I am proud of the leaders that have emerged in my classroom.
I strive to create a classroom that is hands-on, engaging, safe, and fun. I strive to give my superheroes every experience that is at my disposal. They are what push me to be the best teacher that I can be! They have truly left an imprint on my heart.
This year I had a kidney table for my small group instruction, that is, until it fell onto my lap. Unfortunately, my custodial staff could not find another one to replace the broken one. I had to teach small group at a large rectangular table. This made things difficult since students were often too far away to manage easily.
The Lakeshore small group kidney table will be perfect for my future superheroes to sit and learn comfortably during remediation and enrichment.
The legs can be adjusted, so I can find the perfect height for my students. The rounded corners of the table will make it more intimate, so that I can see and hear everyone. It will also be perfect as we do activities during small group. My students will now be able to reach the manipulatives in the middle of the table.
Small group remediation is extremely important in kindergarten because we work on skills that are much needed. During Literacy, we work on phonics, phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, and reading comprehension. During Math, we work on number sense, comparing/contrasting numbers, addition and subtraction. The small group kidney table I am requesting will create a place where we can sit and learn comfortably.
To my future donors, I thank you for supporting this project. This table will be used daily, and will give my students a place to learn!
