We all need a little variety in seating at times!

Help me give my students alternative seating options. Kids with ADHD really struggle to sit and focus on a standard desk chair, by having an Active Wobble Chair available, will help increase their concentration and performance in class.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Richards's classroom raised $453

My Students

I am starting my 4th year teacher and working in a Title I school, with a 60% + below poverty rate. The majority of my students live in apartments and government funded housing. I have 4 students that are at grade level, the rest are below level.

Though I have many students that struggle with math, reading, and writing they are eager learners and have a great desire to grow and learn!

As a teacher, I am thrilled that my students want to help others in the class who struggle with different concepts. Every one of them has a chance to help or teach another because they all have different areas of strength and areas they need help with.

My Project

When students are empowered to select their own type of seating, they are more invested in their learning. By providing different types of seating options for my students I am providing options for them to have a choice, allow movement while learning, comfort which helps focus, and increased motivation in their learning.

Some of the more hyper students need to move and get out excess energy, having a few wiggle seats will allow this to happen without disrupting the class and that student is now able to focus.

Some students prefer to sit on the floor, but having only a clipboard to write on has not been the best solution, the portable lap desks can be put away when not in use, but allows the students who want to sit on the floor a proper writing surface.

This is just a few examples of how flexible seating is helpful in a classroom. There are multiple uses for each of the items requested and I look forward to watching my student using them as we go through the year!
