My Project

The books and art supplies will help my students become more aware of the diversity that is around them and in their community they live in. Students will use the books in centers and during independent reading time. The books will also be used to teach lessons on diversity and how people are different from one another.

These books will make a difference in my students lives because they will be more transparent about multiculturalism in America and be able to understand that everyone; no matter their race, ethnicity, or gender belongs.

After sharing the books, my students will get to create pictures and collages of themselves, friends and family members with the paper and pencils that match their own skin color. They are learning they each are unique and what a fun way to express themselves through their artwork !
