My Students
My students come to school to learn the essentials to become successful adults. They may come from Spanish-speaking homes or English-speaking homes, but each and every one of my students come to school to learn.
Our students strive to do the best they can, by challenging and pushing themselves to do well. My students come from very diverse backgrounds, which makes our classroom the perfect place for debates, discussions, and hands-on activities. Diversity leads to different views on each topic we cover throughout the year.
My Project
Every spring our students choose a historical person to portray in our Wax Museum unit. These books will allow students to have more variety of historical people to choose from.
Our students look forward to the Wax Museum every year, anxious to choose their hero to portray.
This unit involves students choosing a person in our history, where from the United States, Mexico, or another country, to portray in the Wax Museum.
Students write a biography about the person they chose and then "dress" as the person while participating in the Wax Museum.
Students recite their person's life history and what important thing they did to become famous, such as Bruce Lee, Queen Victoria, and Julia Child.
Students learn so much from this unit including writing an informational essay and speaking in public.
